How long do people usually stay on the Linus Pauling protocol?

Great Question,
Linus Pauling in his wonderful book HOW TO LIVE LONGER AND FEEL BETTER advises not stopping vitamin C supplementation, even for a single day (And the book recommends from 6,000 to 18,000 mg of ascorbic acid).
The reason I wrote my book is because heart patients following Pauling's advice started to feel well, fast, and often thought they were "cured" and stopped their vitamin C. About six months later they would revert to the previous condition and suffer a heart attack or had to have stents put in. (This happened to Carol Smith 3 times!)
We don't know exactly what the maintenance dose should be, but I think that serum Lp(a) levels can help determine that per individual..
