I made a decision long ago that since I take so much vitamin C, I would share my medical history at this forum.

When I did a search for hospital on this forum, to find your latest, I made a funny discovery:

First page showed 4 of your posts emptied. Second page, already 6 of your emptied posts. Such emptied posts of you go back for many many years. Also other members emptied posts with this search term, but now it can only be speculated why?

But why so many emptied posts of you?

I till now never mentioned with other search terms. Seems the forum search indexing doesn't forget, even when post are emptied afterward.

Someone nefarious has admin privileges.

Our phpBB is old, and probably has security holes, and even experts in upgrading have ignored our requests for help.
Our release is too far behind.


If people don't want my posts off/removed from the Internet, for some reason, I'll have to devote effort to preserving those "emptied" posts.

First step is identifying them.

Second, will be going to backups.

Maybe what we should do is simply "lock" the forum - making it read only, and create a new forum and the latest software release, and start from scratch. Biggest problem would be user's need to re-register.

I'm not that computer afine. But maybe it's possible to convert the users and posts database from the latest unaffected backup, to be used with latest software?

Though, the first deleted was dated 2008.

There are too many emptied to ever complete a list. Alone looking at the search result of all my posts, 55 pages of them, the first emptied was already in 2009.

Your first emptied is on page 350 in 2005 by a search of all your posts.

The lack of rhyme and reason for seemingly arbitrarily emptied posts escapes me. Since these emptyings of posts go back to the beginning of the forum, therefore would mean much manual editing effort involved (complete deletion by just one click would be easier without leaving traces), and then suddenly happening right on the page of an active thread? Which would make the whole sabotage all too obvious?

So maybe really only accumulated bugs of an old forum software?

Maybe it is just a "bug" (that would make me feel better) but why now? Why after our Twitter/X advertising reached 700,000 who "clicked" on our Pauling Therapy ad? And then Twitter/X cancelled us as advertisers for "violating policy," then we get calls from the FDA saying they are "on their way" to visit our office... Never came, but area codes match where FDA offices are. Then our Denial--of-Service sensors on our servers spiked recently, from at most 400 TCP connections to now approaching about 2000 connections....

We have kept a low profile for years, but that has changed recently, and I think we are paying for it.

Therefore maybe in average 3 emptied post per search page, multiplied by 430 pages, would amount to 1290 emptied post of you alone, who has the written the most posts here.

By the way, your profile on the members page says, you have made 15860 post in total. Clicking on that number brings the same 431 search results pages, as in your profile itself. Since each search page lists 15 posts, that's in total 6450 posts of you are found. Which means, 9410 of them are no more found. And not only emptied.

And that seems to have happened to all members.

In my case there should be 1572 posts, but only 825 are shown.

The forum has an automatic "trimming" process. If a post hasn't been accessed/read for a certain amount of time, maybe 2 years, it is "pruned." That is no doubt what you are seeing. I tried to turn pruning off in the archive forum - so that the archive would be preserved for posterity, and we have "lost" some interesting old posts, but if we don't prune, the database would become so huge and the performance would be poor, etc, over time.

We'll rethink with the new forum.
